Inspired by dreams, Anna Chandler's typography evokes a sense of mysticism
From Selena Gomez to Fiorucci, Anna's portfolio stuns with its colourful and deeply textured range.
Seattle-born and Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist Anna Chandler spreads her talent into various domains: graphic design, lettering, art direction and animation. Yet, she's no jack of all trades and master of none. Anna's craft speaks for itself, it's all masterful. With a strong inclination towards merging digital and analogue techniques, Anna is captivated by the disruption of regularity and the infusion of human touch that physical methods bring to her artistic endeavours. “I experiment with a wide range of mediums and tools, choosing materials that further inform the context and tonality of the work,” Anna tells It's Nice That.
With an impressively varied portfolio ranging from advertising campaigns to album launches, Anna explains how her creative focus gravitates towards “rich colour fields, organic forms and tactile materials”. Most interesting is how the realm of dreams and their emotional reverberations command a significant share of Anna's visuals. “Dreams, similar to typography, are a system of symbols,” Anna adds. “Drawing from this innate source of symbolism and imagination, I hope to evoke a sense of mysticism and meaning in my own work.”
