Back with a bang: Jeffrey Cheung illustrates the Coming of Age Issue of The Anonymous Sex Journal
Oakland-based artist and illustrator Jeffrey Cheung has provided new work for the latest issue of The Anonymous Sex Journal. The latest edition, The Coming of Age Issue, is a compendium of tales gathered over a period of 12 months that offer an insight into contributors’ most intimate moments.
“Often tender, sometimes hilarious, the riso-printed issue is aimed to amuse and encourage new dialogue in how we talk about sex,” Alex Tieghi-Walker, the publication’s founder explains. Jeffrey’s illustrations imagine the sometimes nostalgic and tender, sometimes cringe inducing stories of cherry popping in his inimitable style. His drawings show contorted and twisted bodies bumping nasties, always with a smile on their face. Together with the anecdotes it creates a playful and celebratory publication that is all too relatable.
The Anonymous Sex Journal exists only in print, in an edition of 500, and Jeffrey’s simple, graphic and charming line drawings bring the awkward, amusing and strange sexual encounters to life. Commissioned by creative director and journalist Alex Tieghi-Walker, Jeffrey follows in the footsteps of artists including Margot Bowman, Juliana Futter and Laura Callaghan in creating drawings for the journal.
The Anonymous Sex Journal is distributed by Ditto London and boutique outlets across the world.
