We’re excited to launch Lecture in Progress – an online resource offering advice about and insight into working in the creative industry.
Our aim is to inspire, inform and empower emerging talent with information and first-hand accounts that demystify the day-to-day workings of the creative world. By focusing on the people, projects and places that make the industry thrive, we want to deliver greater visibility to how work unfolds, where it happens and the breadth of roles that exist.
Alongside original editorial features, we’ll be keeping you in the loop on important conversations and updates surrounding the world of creative work. Explore our Feed, Watch and Directory sections for a curated selection of articles, videos, podcasts and more from around the web, plus a list of essential resources.
We’ve recruited a small team, who have worked on a fantastic selection of content so far, and we also have some exciting things in the pipeline. Initially covering design, illustration, photography, film, animation and advertising across the UK, as we grow we intend to expand our coverage of disciplines, people, job roles, places, types of work and ensure representation across the board. In the meantime, we wholeheartedly encourage reader input, feedback and requests as we do so.
We are extremely grateful to our brand patrons for their support in making Lecture in Progress possible – companies we feel play an important and relevant role within the creative industry. These include Squarespace, G . F Smith and The Paul Smith Foundation.

We’re delighted to announce that Paul Smith, a long time supporter of It’s Nice That has invested in Lecture in Progress through The Paul Smith Foundation. This has allowed us to open up the resource and make it available to current students for free. We will be introducing full professional membership later this year.
