We think our Nicer Tuesdays events are great, even if we do say so ourselves. Not only do they allow us to get some of the most interesting and boundary-defying creatives up on stage, it’s also a chance for us to mingle with you – our wonderful audience. And 2024 has been no different, with packed auditoriums in London and New York.
In London, the hilarious Harriet Richardson graced the stage, detailing the long and winding road that took her from Pentagram to performance art; Jean Jullien gave us a look into how a visual alphabet helped him overcome being ‘bad’ at drawing; Greg Bunbury provided an important breakdown of what it takes to build a career that engages with the good of the community; and James Barnett welcomed us into the lo-fi time-capsule he’s made of his enigmatic parents, who don’t know quite what to do with their new-found TikTok fame…
Meanwhile, across the pond, Quil Lemons told the Nicer Tuesdays audience just how he goes about putting all those megastars he photographs at ease, Khyati Trehan proved that multi-disciplinary doesn’t have to mean you can’t master your medium, the illustrator Karlotta Frier showed us the importance of self belief, guiding us through her animated project with Hermés (the first time she had ever animated!), and Hassan Rahim shed light on how he’s become one of the most respected art directors in the cultural sphere. Time to get yourself a snack, and get watching.
